Yoshi's Universal Gravitation

Tilt control plays a large part in achieving many of the objectives set and some levels solely rely on the tilt control. It may take some time getting use to, especially when tilting and using the key and directional buttons at the same time. You might also find you will become your own worst enemy as some enemies react to the way you tilt, and will roll right into you, because of your style. Working out how your environment moves and how Yoshi reacts to the change is the key, as things may not always respond as you expect.
Once you become more familiar with the tilt, you will then start to appreciate Universal Gravitation and what it has to offer. It offers a variety of challenges around this control and although some may seem a bit repetitive, it is worthwhile completing to better hone your hand eye co-ordination skills.
The look and sounds of the game are cleverly created and perfectly tie into the storybook theme of the game. In saying this it does make things look a bit childish and may mot appeal to the average gamer at first glance. This is a bit of a shame as Universal Gravitation does offer some goods that make it worthwhile playing. This may look and feel a bit childish and just getting through a level with any medal may be easy, but completing each chapter perfectly with gold medals awarded is no easy feat.
Perhaps it is the quality that makes this stand out from your basic 2D platform game. Perhaps it's a combination of this and the tilt control. Whatever the reason (and even if you feel a bit like an idiot turning upside down and so on while people are watching), it remains a good game to have in the collection for the pure fun of it. |
