SINCE ITS INITIAL RELEASE in the 1990s, SingStar on PS2 has been a party favourite enjoyed by many. Enjoyed so much that SingStar has nine titles to the series with the most recent being 90's and Pop Hits, which were both released only a few weeks apart. Now the folks at Sony are going for round ten with the soon to be released SingStar: Rock Ballads.

Set for release at the end of the month, Rock Ballads features hits spanning the 80s where big hair dos, tie-dye and peace symbol chains were in, to some of today's music such as the likes of Avril Lavigne. It's a diverse selection of music which will attract all ages and remind older ones of way back when when leg warmers were a fashion accessory.

Although Rock Ballads is the tenth title to the series, it unfortunately does not introduce anything new apart form a new track list, so it's difficult to point out any great new features. The SingStar series has had some new features added in along the way but it is largely the same as when it was first released. But like previous releases, this will not deter anyone from picking up the mic and rocking to the beats of Rock Ballads.

SingStar Rock Ballads is going to be another great addition to a highly successful series. The track list is decent and like always is enough to keep you singing, or screaming for the tone deaf, for hours on end.

Track list:

  • Air Supply - All Out of Love
  • Alannah Myles - Black Velvet
  • Avril Lavigne - I'm With You
  • Boston - More than a Feeling
  • Boy Meets Girl - Waiting for a Star to Fall
  • Cutting Crew - I Just Died in Your Arm
  • Cyndi Lauper - Time After Time
  • Duran Duran - Ordinary World
  • Europe - Carrie
  • Heart - Alone
  • Jon Secada - Just another Day
  • Lone Star - Amazed
  • Marc Cohn - Walking in Memphi
  • Meatloaf - I'd do anything for Love (But I won't do that)
  • Mike & the Mechanics - The Living Year
  • Mr Big - To be with you
  • Mr Mister - Broken Wing
  • Mr Mister - Kyrie
  • Nickelback - How You Remind Me
  • Nilsson - Without You
  • Pat Benatar - Love is a Battlefield
  • Poison - Every Rose Has its Thorn

  • Roxette - It Must Have Been Love
  • Roxette - Listen to Your Heart
  • Starship - Nothing is going to Stop Us Now
  • The Calling - Wherever You Will Go
