THE END IS NIGH! For the Ice Age, that is. Ice Age 2: The Meltdown is coming soon to a theatre near you, just in time for the school holidays. Of course, no self-respecting kids' blockbuster would be complete without a tie-in game for just about every platform on the market.
Featuring the principle characters from the original Ice Age movie, the game's story is set at the end of an era, when the world as Manny, Diego and Sid know it, is literally drowning before their eyes. Thanks to global warming, the valley they call home is being flooded by glacial melt, and they must venture across some hostile landscape in order to reach safety.
Each of the three main characters is playable, however players will spend much of the game as Scrat, the twitchy sabre-toothed squirrel-rat creature, whose life revolves around the pursuit of those ever elusive acorns.
Featuring the voice talent of actors Ray Romano, John Leguizamo, and Denis Leary, unlockable bonus content plus a variety of beautifully detailed and interesting environments to explore, this platformer might be just the ticket to keep the ankle biters entertained over the holidays.
Ice Age 2: The Meltdown is scheduled for a multi-platform release alongside the movie, on April 6th.
