King Arthur

Developer: Krome Studios; Publisher: Konami
Preview by (15 March 2005)

KING ARTHUR INVADED OUR movie screens half way through last year. If you were lucky enough to get a look at the director's cut on DVD (which was much better than the movie release), you might feel more obliged to take a look at the PS2 game of the same name.

One of the most appealing aspects of the game looks like it could be the graphics and game-play as the game boasts "footage and likenesses lifted directly from the film, we have created a very playable game that dove-tails perfectly into the movie's action sequences, effectively allowing the player to relive its many epic battles first-hand."

Players take control of the motion picture's heroes - Arthur, Lancelot, Guinevere, Tristan or Bors - and use their unique skills as they embark on a perillous mission revealing the historic tale of the real Knights of the Round Table. Featuring single or co-operative play, combat on horseback, and multiple mission types with diverse goals, the King Arthur video game will provide a cinematic action adventure experience of epic scale.

King Arthur won't take the game world by storm but it certainly looks like it could be worth a whirl. Hacking and slashing your way through Woads and Saxons alike, re-live the legend of King Arthur from the seat of your chair. Excalibur awaits.

Features:

  • Detailed facial scans from the outstanding cast members, including Clive Owen and Keira Knightly
  • Photo-realistic 3-D environments beautifully recreated from the film Dynamic fighting system featuring unprecedented combat via horseback component Motion-captured fighting sequences and moves
  • Deep story driven adventure that mirrors the plot of the film
  • Seamless cut scene transition from film to game Upgradeable characters with unlockable special moves and combos
  • Take control of the motion picture's heroes: Arthur, Lancelot, Guinevere, Tristren or Bors each with unique skills
  • Single-player and two-player co-operative modes
