ALTHOUGH AT FIRST APPEARANCE a simple game, Risk has been an enduring favourite for many. Its many strategies and multiplayer aspects make it a natural for the PS2 online network.
The board game is largely unchanged in this transition to the console. Why would it, given the original game's challenge of achieving world domination through building armies and capturing territories. The only major changes you will see in this transition is the ability to see your battles take place graphically and probably the most attractive feature the ability to play online with up to 6 players.
Successful generals will be able to earn medals and special dice as they improve their standings world wide. There will also be various modes of game play as well as differing map designs but under the hood is the basic Risk game. Because it is a game with a lot of familiarity to many people it is likely to gain a good following very quickly.
One downer though is that from the game maps we have a seen New Zealand still does not exist in the world of Risk. We are not sure whether we should be insulted or grateful that NZ is not seen worthy to be invaded or included in an empre...
