THE SIMS. IT'S A series which is almost as old as time. The recent Makin' Magic is recognised as the final incarnation of the console / PC versions (until Sims 2.0 - an entirely new game - debuts) but no such restriction is forthcoming for the little handheld that could - Nintendo's Game Boy Advance. It makes a lot of sense when you think about it: neither the game nor the GBA itself focuses on graphical impressiveness; they are both entirely about gameplay. A match made in heaven? Until Bustin' Out comes out (22nd January), we can't say for sure, but we can take a look at the features the title boasts...
- First version of The Sims to appear on Nintendo's handheld
- Connectivity with The Sims: Bustin' Out on Nintendo GameCube (scheduled for release at the same time)
- Game Boy Advance exclusive locations to explore
- Create-a-sim mode, complete with lots of customisation options - create a sim that is unique to you
- Start off living in a barn in SimValley and work your way up to living in a mansion on the hill - any way you want to
- Collect more than 150 unique to the GBA items, such as fishing rods and boom boxes, by going to daily auctions, shops or trading with other players
It certainly sounds like it will make a great addition to the Sims series, complete with the all-new ability to trade items with other Game Boy players - you can even download your Sim from the GameCube version and earn new features for the home version whilst on the go. Will this be the new Pokemon? Stay tuned for a full review.
