NamcoBandai announces Eureka Seven Vol. 1: The New Wave for PS2
Posted by M (21 Aug 2006, 10:59 a.m. NZST)

Based on the anime series running on Cartoon Networks' Adult Swim lineup, Eureka Seven Vol 1: The New Wave for te PlayStation 2 computer entertainment system is a combat adventure featuring lithe, adaptable mecha called LFOs (Light Finding Operation).

LFOs can transform into two modes – humanoid and vehicle form – depending on the combat situation. Additionally, LFOs can ride on a board in the air called a ref-board. The humanoid form of the LFO provides increased mobility and versatility, but is more prone to attacks due to its extended height, and consumes more energy than the vehicle mode, which offers faster speed and lower profile.

The LFO also can ride on the unique ref-board, which allows the LFO to harness transparent energy called trapars, invisible light particles that provides lift for aerial travel. While on ref-boards, LFOs can surf trapars, executing tricks to disrupt opponents while using the LFOs regular arsenal of melee and ranged weapons.

Eureka Seven Vol. 1: The New Wave offers a variety of gameplay modes as the gamer can switch from playing the character and controlling the LFOs. With customisable load outs, this upcoming title guarantees an intriguing storyline and exciting combat in an unforgettable sci-fi world.
