Impossible Creatures - Quick Look

(continued)

advertisement
"Impossible Creatures will be the "RTS for Everyone Else," by providing a quick, fun game that emphasizes strategy over micro-management, rewarding the player for tactics rather than the memorization of technology build orders. With tens of thousands of animal combinations possible, players' strategic sensibilities, analytical abilities and creativity will be tested, and the gameplay is sure to appeal to any RTS fan. Impossible Creatures will be a 'Streamlined RTS,' focused on short, faster-paced games with a quick turnaround, allowing players to play several games in the time it would normally take to play a single game in another RTS. This also provides more opportunities for players to perfect their armies and tactics."

Relic have certainly done a great job of keeping Impossible Creatures extremely accesible to a wide audience without sacrificing any depth. What also impressed us was the strength of the animal combination feature. It really is almost a game in itself and players will find themselves spending hours tweaking their mutations till they find the perfect critter.

Solid multiplayer support has been built in and Relic have stated that they are very keen to support and mod-projects that may be started by Impossible Creatures fans. They even went as far as to say that high quality mod-productions may even receive access to all the development tools and assets that Relic use.

You'll be seeing and hearing a lot more about Impossible Creatures over the next few months (a lot of it from us!) as it is shaping up to be a very exciting and original title. In the meantime check out the screenshots and start planning those animal combos.
